Our little stay in London

It was nice to be in London  again but it certainly was a different experience to living here 14 years ago without children.

We arrived to our Finsbury Park apartment late in the afternoon after a 30 hour commute from Adelaide. It was a balmy 10 degrees and was the daily average high for the next week.

They crashed without dinner and with the sun still out.....and we weren't too far behind them.

We sat down together every morning for breakfast to start the day without TV or radio.....as the flat didn't have either. This was exactly what we needed and was really good for us, but it was a shock to Oskar and Ivy. We really want this trip to see a big reduction in screen time and more time connecting, exploring and hopefully not strangling each other in the process.

We quickly realised that the kids were not one bit interested in the usual tourist London sites and architecture, so we tried to make sure we did kid friendly activities rather than walk around taking photos of landmarks together.

London was really a chance to settle in the new timezone and catch up with friends we hadn't seen in a long time. I'm sure they will return when they are older and do all that other boring stuff........in the meantime, Oskar wants to know where all the playgrounds are!

I'll let them tell you about our days in London.

Living in London with children ...even for a short week really made us appreciate the space we have back at home. Inside and out. We are very lucky indeed.

The kids seemed to enjoy our stay at #33, but we were very ready to move out of the city and on to a quieter village where we could slow down a bit.
